About Us

Beginning of the Project

Start Date: 01/11/2023
Duration: 24 month
Funded by: Erasmus+ Programme of the EU Commission

Needs

Enhancing Teacher Understanding:

Research indicates a limited understanding of environmental citizenship among teachers. The project develops and implements training programs to improve teacher comprehension of environmental citizenship and its significance.

Aligning with EU Environmental Policy:

The dynamic nature of environmental citizenship models requires periodic adjustments based on EU policy targets. The project stays current with the latest EU policy documents, adapting its approach accordingly.

Engaging Primary Level Students:

Recognizing that today’s primary level students will be adults in 2030, the project emphasizes reaching out to children early to instill co-responsibility and awareness of their future environmental impact.

Popularizing EU Environmental Policy:

The project underscores the importance of making EU environmental policy documents accessible to both adults and minors. By providing tools and resources, it aims to help its target groups understand these policy documents and take informed action on environmental issues.

Aim

Foster Environmental Responsibility:

Develop a sense of responsibility and environmental consciousness among students to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources.

Promote Awareness of Environmental Terms:

Popularize terms like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental Sustainability Education (ESD) among children, helping them comprehend environmental issues and their impact on the ecosystem.

Utilize Game-Based Learning:

Employ a game-based approach and digital technology to simulate green challenges, making learning engaging and stimulating. This strengthens students’ knowledge and interest in STEM and environmental issues.

Raise Awareness of Ecological Footprint:

Increase consciousness about the ecological footprint of actions, educating students on how to reduce their impact on the environment. This empowers them to make informed choices promoting sustainability and environmental protection.

Link STEM Knowledge to Environmental Interest:

Encourage STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) knowledge by connecting it to environmental interest. Develop an interest in STEM and equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address environmental challenges.
